There were two requests from
Veronica Coleman regarding the financials.
She is requesting homeowners be provided with a copy of the financial
documentation for their benefit to review along with the board. She also requested a discussion on how
assessment fees are recorded.
After a lengthy discussion, the
board was unable to determine the need for this information. Ms. Coleman kept citing figures from the 2016
financial information but was unable to produce specific facts. Max called for a motion regarding the
request. Jane Stevenson made a motion to
decline the request to provide the requested documentation. The motion was
seconded by Betty Shaw and all board members voted no. The financials are posted on the web
site. The Homeowners of CVHOA have
elected this board to manage the funds and work requests necessary to maintain
our community.
The discussion of how association
fees are recorded was next on the list.
We asked Ms. Coleman what her objective was in obtaining confidential
information. She did not wish to see
each individual account, but rather wanted to understand the process. Jane Stevenson responded stating that as Ms.
Coleman was a board member for one year she is well aware of how fees are
recorded. It was further explained if
someone is in arrears, it is duly noted and addressed. Also, if someone pays several months at a
time, it too is noted. She then asked
what happened to the money that was noted as on the books at the end of the
year. Response was, that money is in
the checking account. Any request from
any homeowner for accounts receivable information will be denied unless that
request is regarding their own account.
Max moved on as the financial
discussion and requests are closed topics.
Susan Keene reviewed the Balance
Sheet and expenses for January. After some discussion, the balance sheet and
expenses were motioned by Jane Stevenson to accept and Sharon Eichmann seconded
the motion, all approved.
Discussion then turned to issues
with dogs at or around 7940 Sunfield and 3046 Valley Farms. Dogs are a disturbance with constant
barking. Dogs have also been seen
running loose, which is a violation of City Ordinances, and doing their business
without any owner taking responsibility to clean up after these dogs. This is a violation of Country Village
Homeowners Association By-Laws.
No further business the general
meeting was adjourned at 7:50. Max
thanked the homeowners present for the interest and attendance.
THE NEXT BOARD MEETING WILL BE MAY
8, 2017 AT 7:00 PM AT THE HARRISON.
Respectfully,
Jane Stevenson, Recording Secretary
